In my experience, attending events in general are the best ways to both build and sustain your professional network. Events can be professional development oriented, in support of a cause or charity that you are passionate about or in recognition of accomplishments of others. I believe that the best networking happens organically and when you are focused on a mission to serve others than an agenda of your own.

2 Check local resources
Another way to find job fairs near you is to check local resources that may host or promote them. For example, you can visit your local library, community center, college, or chamber of commerce, and look for flyers, posters, or newsletters that announce job fairs. You can also contact your local workforce development agency, unemployment office, or career center, and ask them if they know of any upcoming job fairs that match your interests and qualifications.

American Job Centers, Handshake, and Internet Search are a few options. Keep your eyes open. There are events other than job fairs that could yield the same result.

A fourth way to find job fairs near you is to research employers that you are interested in working for, and see if they are participating in any job fairs in your area. You can visit their websites, blogs, or newsletters, and look for announcements or invitations to job fairs. You can also follow their social media accounts, and engage with their posts or messages about job fairs. You can also email or call their human resources department, and ask them if they are planning to attend any job fairs in the near future.

5 Prepare for the job fair
Once you have found a job fair near you that suits your goals and expectations, you need to prepare for it. You should research the employers that will be there, and tailor your resume and cover letter to their specific needs and requirements. You should also dress professionally, bring copies of your documents, and practice your elevator pitch and interview skills. You should also have a clear idea of what you want to achieve from the job fair, and how you will follow up with the contacts you make.
